Weather-Ready Installation
Outdoor fixtures face rain, freeze-thaw cycles, and summer heat. We use wet-rated fixtures, GFCI-protected circuits, and proper underground wiring methods so your lighting stays safe and reliable.
LED fixtures keep energy use low even when lights run every night.
The wiring method matters as much as the fixture. Buried runs to remote garden areas, connections inside properly rated enclosures, and circuits protected against ground faults are what separate lighting that lasts a decade from lighting that dies the first wet season.
Design That Works at Night
Good outdoor lighting is designed after dark. We walk the property in the evening, mark where light should fall and where glare would spoil the view, and plan fixture placement around what you actually see from your windows, porch, and patio.
Layering matters too: pathway lights guide feet, uplighting gives trees and façades depth, and security floods cover the dark corners. Bright everywhere is harsh and expensive; the goal is the right light in the right place, controlled automatically.

Security Lighting That Actually Helps
Floodlights are the most common outdoor lighting request — and the most commonly mis-installed. A fixture mounted too high and aimed too wide creates glare, deep shadows, and a light that blinds the very people it should help see. Effective security lighting is layered and aimed: low-level path light, targeted floods on approach routes, and motion activation where a sudden light startles rather than illuminates.
Camera positioning interacts with lighting too. A camera staring into a floodlight sees nothing; a camera beside a well-aimed fixture sees everything. We plan both together when you’re adding either one.
If your current security lighting hasn’t deterred so much as a raccoon, a redesign usually fixes it — the hardware is often fine, and the aim is wrong.
Fixture quality shows up outdoors more than anywhere else. Sealed fixtures with real gaskets last years in our climate; cheap units fog, corrode, and fail in the first few seasons. We specify fixtures rated for wet locations, use stainless or coated hardware at the connections, and keep junction boxes accessible for service. Outdoor lighting is one place where buying slightly better hardware genuinely pays for itself in avoided replacement calls.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you install low-voltage landscape lighting?
Yes. We install both low-voltage and line-voltage outdoor lighting.
Can outdoor lights turn on automatically?
Yes. Photocells, timers, motion sensors, and smart controls can automate your lighting.
Is outdoor wiring buried?
Where needed, yes, using the burial depth and materials required by code.
Can you add outdoor lighting to a home with no exterior outlets?
Yes. We run new exterior circuits from the panel, which also gives you a safer setup than running extension cords seasonally.
Will security lights annoy the neighbors?
Well-aimed fixtures with proper shields put light on your property instead of in their windows. Placement and aiming are part of our design process.
